This page contains instructions for configuring Loyalty Program Autoship Promotion by Awarding Free product on Autoship Orders placed with specific purchased product. (Ex. Buy 1 Get 1 Free)
When building new Promotions you will need to build each area in order; first create the Promotion Action, then create any applicable Promotion Conditions, and finally associate the areas and build the Promotion.
To configure the Promotion Action, navigate to Administration > Bonus > Promotions > Promotion Actions
- Click the "New" button
- Add a Description for the Promotion Action. (ex. Autoship Buy1Get1Free)
- On the Action Type field select "AutoShip: Add Item"
- The "Start Date" and "End Date” is optional. These dates can be controlled from the Promotion configuration leaving the default date is recommended.
- For the field "Is this Promotion Discount Taxable?" leave as “NO" since no shipping fee is added to the order on this example.
- On the "Quantity" field enter the quantity number of the free product awarded.
- Select the Product on the "Item #" field to be awarded by the promotion.
Note: Items selected will be added to order with current pricing. It is recommended to create a Promotional item with the price set.
- Select the desired item pricing on the "PriceType" field. By default, it will use the Autoship Pricing.
- Save the Promotion Action, then proceed to configure the Promotion Conditions below.
To configure Promotion Conditions navigate to Administration > Bonus > Promotions > Promotion Conditions
- Click the "New" button
- Add a Description for the Promotion Condition. (ex. Count Autoship Product Purchased)
- For the "Condition Type" select "Autoship: Product Count Min/Max"
- "Start Date" and "End Date" are optional. It is advisable to keep the default dates; you can manage these dates from the Promotion configuration page.
- For "Products Min", specify the minimum quantity of the Product purchased required to award the Promotion.
- For "Products Max", specify the maximum quantity of the Product purchased required to award the Promotion.
- Select the single Product to evaluate on the "Item #", in use when no Inventory Collection is specified
OR
- Select from a list of predefined items to evaluate, listed in an "Inventory Collection" on "Inventory Collection" in use when no Item # is specified above
- When applicable, enter the dates to evaluate orders in the past on "Start Date" and "End Date". When evaluating the current order only, these fields are not considered for the Promotion.
- Select "Current Order Only" option on the "Current Order"
Available Current Order Only options:
Exclude Current Order: When selected, the order created during AutoShip and being evaluated by this condition will NOT have its items included in the evaluation process. This is backwards compatible and selecting it would cause no change to current functionality.
Include Current Order: This would include the items on the current AutoShip order in the product count evaluation, if applicable.
Current Order Only: Uses ONLY the current order's products towards the Product Count evaluation. This excludes the prior period’s orders entirely when evaluating.
- Enter Zero numerical value on the "Periods Back" Not used when evaluating the current order only.
- Select "Year" or desired period to use on the "Period Type" Not used when evaluating the current order only
- Leave unchecked "Dissallow Promotion Reuse - Action". If checked this condition will only apply on items that have not been awarded as a Promotion in the past.
- For "Exclude Inventory Collection", either choose none or select an Inventory Collection to be excluded when evaluating products purchased as desired.
- Select "Count Parent Items Only" on the "Inventory Group Behavior" field
Available Inventory Group Behavior options:
Count Parent Items Only: Only the parent item would be counted towards the total Promotional Condition when item is part of a group item.
Count Child Items Only: Only the child item would be counted towards the total promotional condition when item is part of a group item.
Count Parent and Child Items: Both the parent items and child item would be counted towards the total Promotional Condition when item is part of a group item.
Example: If set to Count Parent Items Only, only the parent item would be counted towards the total promotional condition. For example, with a group item A with children B and C, Count Parent Items only would calculate a 1, and Count Parent and Child Items would calculate a 3 towards the condition total. And Count Child Items Only would calculate a 2 towards the condition total.
