Your Freedom application is pre-configured with templates with all three calculation methods. You may choose to use any one of these and update the rate schedule, or you may choose to deactivate them and create your own.
Method Types | Description |
---|---|
Flat Rate of Total | This MethodType will use the subtotal of the order to determine the range it falls in, and apply the corresponding shipping rate. For example: $0-100 orders will be charged $3.95 for shipping, $100-250 will be charged $5.49 for shipping. If the order's subtotal is $100.95, the shipping fees will be $5.49 |
Percent of Total | Similar to Flat Rate of Total, this MethodType will use the subtotal of the order to determine the range it falls in. The rate is a calculated percent of that subtotal where the company defines the percent. For example: $0-200 orders will be charged 2% for shipping, $200-500 orders will be charged 3.25%. If the order's subtotal is $201.49, the shipping fees will be calculated as follows: $201.49 x 0.0325 = $6.55 |
Weight | The MethodType of Weight is NOT real-time weight calculations. The Weight MethodType works similary to Flat Rate of Total, instead of basing the ranges on the order's subtotal, it bases it on the orders total weight of the items. For this method is is vital that the weight value of each item is configured with a consistent unit of meausre as Freedom does NOT covert weights and units of meausre. |
Real-time shipping rates are available through ByDesign's partnership with ShipStation. ShipStation is NOT pre-configured as it must first be setup with ShipStation. If you already have ShipStation agreements in place, you may follow the steps to set it up below. If you do not already have a ShipStation agreement in place, please connect with them here.
